the start. the main event is heading our way. >>> good morning. thanks for being with us. i'm marla tellez. >> i'm jon kelley. it is the first of two wet weather systems moving through the bay area. it is almost noon and we can see the headlights still on for drivers making for a bit of a slow go of things around san jose. and a wet walk for anybody in los gatos dodging through the rain drops. for that and more, we have team coverage in place for the storm watch. mike is there with the traffic and then we have christina in the weather center tracking the rain. >> good morning. it was active this morning. we have a bit of a break right now before the heavyÑnlv rain in. let's take it to the radar and show you what we're tracking. for the most part, showers will continue to move up from the south and pushing to the north. you can see the sierra snowfall coming down. this system is coming from the south. it is packing moisture. what it is not packing is the frigid arctic air. this comes with the next system on late saturday and sunday. right now, we're tracking moderate activity. you see the

right now. >>> good morning. thank you very much for joining us. i'm jon kelley. >> i'm marla tellez. we begin this morning with the flooding in daly city where the clean up has begun. we have both nbc bay area's christie smith and bob redell redell with us. we start off with christie smith of the details and what happened. any clean up yet, christie? >> reporter: good morning. it has been a morning and a mess here in daly city. there are front loaders and vacuum trucks everywhere trying to deal with this mudslide. it started with a water pipe that broke off. i wanted to show you what it has done to the hillside this morning as a section came down bringing trees and debris right into the neighborhood. neighbors say it sounded like a storm. water rushing down the hillside along lusanne avenue carrying debris and trees trapping parked cars. it was just to the left of romero's home. >> i was not aware there was a tank up there. >> reporter: what do you think now that you know what happened? >> i'm guessing, you know, infrastructure might be getting old. >> reporter: the gap in the hillside

for being with us. i' i'm marla tellez. >> i'm jon kelley. union city police investigating a bizary hiizarre death. a young man stuffed in a trash can. we have bob redell with more. >> reporter: good morning, jon. we know the lady who lives in the home behind me on tenth street made the discovery sunday morning at 11:00. as she took out the trash, she noticed a bin that wasn't hers. she found a man slouched, feet at the bottom and head at the top. she recognized him at 21-year-old joshua perez. a family friend whom she watched grow up as a kid and sometimes stayed at her house. she and other family members tried to wake him. he was unresponsive, but still alive, but arrived at the hospital and later died. >> he was a good uncle and good brother to me. he was a good son. he didn't deserve to be put in a trash can. he's not garbage. >> reporter: that's joshua's older sister who is still trying to figure out what happened to her brother saturday night/sunday morning. union city police are not calling this a homicide yet. rather a suspicious death. investigators and family believe that joshua wa
